Globe Nightlife Picks June 3

CLUBS & DANCE NIGHTS

“GET HIM TO THE GREEK’’ RELEASE PARTY The only unforgettable thing about the film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall’’ was UK comedian Russell Brand’s rock star character Aldous Snow. “Get Him to the Greek’’ follows Snow’s continued hedonistic exploits. Revolution Rock Bar hosts Boston’s official launch party for the film on Friday with giveaways, dancing, and an open casting call for Miss Boston 2010. We’re pretty sure Snow would be very interested in that last bit. 21+. 10 p.m. Free. June 4. Revolution Rock Bar. 617-261-4200. www.revolutionrockbar.com

PATIO PARTY It’s officially hot out now, and that means you’ve got two choices for socializing. You can either hide inside in the air conditioning like a caveman or tackle summer head-on by eating and drinking outside. Your options for the latter just got a little better this weekend with the official launch of three outdoor spots at the InterContinental Boston: Sushi-Teq’s outdoor waterfront medallion, Miel Brasserie Provençale’s waterfront patio, and the terrace wine bar. On Saturday there will be a live salsa band, salsa dancers and tastings from both restaurants. Just remember, no matter how hot it gets, don’t jump into the channel. 21+. 5 p.m. Free. June 5. InterContinental Boston. 617-747-1000. www.intercontinentalboston.com

ART PROM The words art and prom don’t really work together when we think about our dubious prom experience, unless you consider loneliness an art form. Might have to make up for that on Saturday with this benefit for the Somerville Arts Council and Center for Arts at the Armory. Groove to old power ballads and goofy hip-hop hits, make your own prom crowns and get your picture taken in the photo booth. Just like the good old days, but with much, much lower expectations. 7 p.m. $10. June 5. Arts at the Armory. 617-718-2191. www.somervilleartscouncil.org
